Modern dog friendly self catering cottage in Lyndhurst, The New Forest
Under new ownership and refurbished in 2021, Rhubarb Cottage has 3 floors of accommodation and is deceptively spacious. On the ground floor the open plan lounge and dining areas are light and airy, boasting high quality modern furniture and lighting. There is also a wood burning stove for those cooler evenings or winter days after a long walk / trip out.
Patio doors open out from the dining room onto the delightfully private and fully enclosed garden. Enjoy alfresco dining, watch the large variety of birds or relax on the reclining chairs.
The newly fitted kitchen is compact but full of integrated appliances as well as coffee machine, microwave etc. It also leads to the garden and is well positioned for supervising children and pets playing outside.
There is also a downstairs toilet.
There are 3 bedrooms (superking, double and twin), each with its own individual style and oversized bedding.
Outside there is large shed for bike storage and the essential off road parking space.
Well behaved dogs are welcome at Rhubarb Cottage and are sure to enjoy the fabulous walks on the cottage’s doorstep!
Lounge
Relax in the modern, comfortable lounge area. There is a flat screen tv with Freeview channels as well as the option to connect to any of your personal viewing channels such amazon prime, Netflix etc. There is also a blue tooth speaker for playing your music.
A wood burning stove provides a focal point on winter evenings and a selection of books and board games are available for guests to use.
Dining Area
Open to the sitting area, the dining area is a generous size. The dining table seats six guests with ease and patio doors open directly on to the sunny garden.
Kitchen
The kitchen is compact but contains everything that you need on the occasions when you don’t want to enjoy one of the many restaurants or coffee shops that are close at hand.
Appliances include a full sized fridge freezer, integrated oven and electric hob, dishwasher, washer / dryer, coffee machine, microwave, toaster, kettle and iron, to name a few.
Bathroom
The good-sized bathroom is bright and sunny.There is a full sized bath with power shower above, heated towel rail, plenty of hanging and storage as well as a back lit mirror.
Private Sunny Garden
The garden is a lovely area to eat, enjoy a drink, chill out or watch the sun go down.
It is fully enclosed and provides a safe area for children or pets to stretch their legs and play. There is also a large shed for bikes, fishing gear or any other things that you may wish to store whilst staying at the cottage.
There is a table for six, sun loungers and a parasol.
Bedroom 1
Located at the front of the property, this large bright room features a super king sized bed, and quality bedding, giving it an opulent feel.

Bedroom 2
This smaller, double bedroom overlooks the back garden and is plenty big enough for two people. The luxury grey and ochre bedding contrasts with quality solid wood furniture.
Bedroom 3
On the top floor, the twin bedroom is large with two Velux windows providing views over the forest and plenty of light. The size and layout allows the two single beds to have some privacy making it suitable for adults sharing as well as children. Please note that there is limited headroom over the beds.

Pets
Up to two well behaved, house trained dogs (over the age of 1) are welcome but are not allowed on the furniture or in the bedrooms. There is a charge of £20 per dog per stay.

A combined washer / dryer is available for guest use as well as an iron and ironing board.
Coffee Maker
The kitchen includes a Nescafe dolce gusto coffee machine.

Electricity/gas, central heating, WIFI.

One of the best cottages we have stayed in!
Conveniently situated in the heart of the New Forest on the outskirts of Lyndhurst. 10 minute walk to centre of the village where there are a variety of pubs, restaurants and cafes that will suit all budgets and tastes.
The cottage has a secluded garden where you can relax and watch the many birds. The cottage has been newly renovated to a high standard and is well equipped to accommodate 6 people.
Nice welcoming touches included fresh flowers, cake and some bubbly.
We will definitely be staying here again.

This is a gorgeous cottage in a brilliant location. We were a mixed family group and the cottage was absolutely perfect.
We really couldn’t fault anything and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.Julie was super helpful from my first enquiry and what a lovely surprise when we arrived to find fresh flowers and other lovely treats.
Fantastic cottage in a great location
We loved our stay at Rhubarb Cottage! The welcome goodies were so thoughtful (Prosecco, cake, chocolates, sweets for our daughter and even treats for the dog!).
The cottage is newly decorated and well equipped, with lovely fluffy towels.
It is a 5 minute walk away from the high street (with supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and gift shops) as well as a 5 minute walk away from walks in the forest.
We highly recommend Rhubarb Cottage..

Fantastic stay at Rhubarb cottage and would fully recommend.
My wife and I and our three children and dog found the cottage easily accommodated us and the location was very good.
We visited the Italian restaurant the Pergola which was in walking distance and had a lovely meal.
Would definitely recommend and return.
Julie the host was very informative and good throughout the booking and provided a lovely welcoming pack for our arrival also which was a really nice touch.

Very good location, just 5-10 minute walk to Lyndhurst main street and all of it’s food and drink premises.

Perfect children and pet friendly new forest cottage
The location is perfect, just a short walk into Lyndhurst with dog walking opportunities even closer!
The owners left a lovely welcome pack, a little something for everyone, and the house itself was beautifully decorated and well equipped.

Beautiful spacious cottage – we spent a lovely week here. Very peaceful and a short walk to Lyndhurst high street with plenty of shops and a number of pubs nearby.
Everything you need is provided for, very comfortable large bed in master bedroom, thank you very much Julie will certainly come back and will recommend to friends and family.
